Pulled from the Filson archives, streamlined and updated, our Dry Tin Cruiser Vest is a limited-edition variant of the iconic vest trusted by foresters, surveyors and tradesmen since the 1950s. It’s an outstanding wind-stopper or mid-layer, and since sawdust brushes off with ease, it’s a favorite for bucking logs and in the woodshop. Our classic vest is built with our signature dry finish Tin Cloth, the duck canvas that’s earned its reputation for unfailing durability in forests and on ranches and jobsites throughout the Pacific Northwest for a century. Produced by British Millerain, dry finish Tin Cloth is a tightly-woven 10.5-oz. 2-ply by 2-ply cotton duck with a special hardening agent applied that adds to its exceptional abrasion resistance. Treated with a long-lasting DWR, it repels light rain and resists staining. We chose snaps for the front closure and pocket flaps for their reliability and ease of use while wearing gloves. Behind each flapped cargo pocket are hand side-entry hand pockets, and the chest features an open-stow and slotted-utility pocket that’s ideal for pencils, screwdrivers or penlights. Wide armholes and the V-shaped collar allow comfortable layering and the cut is hip-length so it won’t extend below a jacket in wet weather.
